Description
NEOIT5 is an interactive demo designed to explore the lexical capabilities of NeoIT5-large, a 783M-parameter encoder–decoder language model based on the T5 architecture and fine-tuned for Italian. The application allows users to experiment with three core lexical tasks: Reverse Dictionary (generating words from definitions), Definition Modeling (producing dictionary-style definitions), and Exemplification Modeling (creating contextual usage examples). Users can guide the model through linguistic parameters such as part of speech, semantic labels, and etymological hints, and can choose between generating attested Italian words or exploring candidate neologisms. Developed from a research presented at ACL 2025, the demo provides an accessible environment for investigating lexical reasoning and creativity in Neural Language Models.
